Mississauga Votes 2018 – What Park Royal residents need to know
This Monday, October 22, 2018 is Election Day in Mississauga. From 10 am to 8 pm residents will be able to vote throughout the City on Monday. The two voting locations within Park Royal is the Clarkson Community Centre (2475 Truscott Dr.) or St. Helen Separate School (1325 Bodley Road).
As a Mississauga resident you will have the opportunity to select the Mayor, Ward 2 City Councillor, and your School Board Trustee.
To see who the candidates are, you may visit the Mississauga Votes website.
The Southwest Mississauga Residents’ Association Network (SWM), representing Ward 2, developed a set of questions reflecting the issues important to the community and invited the three Ward 2 city councillor candidates to respond. They received only one response, from Karen Ras and those responses are available through the Park Royal Community Association website here. The Southwest Mississauga Residents’ Association Network wanted to organize a Ward 2 debate but only Karen Ras accepted the invitation even though all three candidates were invited to participate.
The Mississauga Residents’ Association Network (MIRANET), developed a set of questions reflecting issues important to the community and invited the eight mayoral candidates to respond. Only two responses were received from Bonnie Crombie and Andrew Lee. Their responses are available through the Park Royal Community Association website here.
It is often hard for voters in the Mississauga municipal election to get the information they need in order to choose their representatives for mayor, councillor and school trustee. Although the Park Royal Community Association is disappointed in the participation of candidates in responding to community questions or participating in debates, we hope you find this information useful and that it helps you participate in the Mississauga election on Monday.
