Park Royal Community Clean Up Contest
The image above was taken in April 2018. It features some of the volunteers from the 2018 clean-up standing with part of the over 40 bags of litter collected that day. Let’s get even more this year!
Help keep our community clean and enter a draw to win a $50 gift certificate to a local business of our choice!
Every year, the PRCA organizes a community clean-up in the spirit of Earth Day. Due to the social distancing measures occurring this year, there will not be a group clean-up event.
However, we encourage everyone to go out sometime during the month between April 22 (Earth Day) and May 22 and clean up the community on your own.
It is important to exercise caution. Stay at least 2 metres away from others, wear gloves and use a picker (if possible). Do not pick up any litter with your bare hands. Do not pick up any sharps (needles, razors) and if you do see them, call 311.
How does it work?
Here’s the details about how to win a $50 gift certificate!
First, RSVP on the PRCA Facebook event page. Once you have collected at least one bag of garbage, take a picture and post it to the PRCA Facebook event page. At the end of the month (May 22), we will draw a random name from the pictures submitted.
The winner will be able to choose a $50 gift certificate to any business in the Park Royal Plaza. Feel free to submit as many pictures as you want to enter more chances in the draw – as long as each picture has a different bag of garbage.
How do I dispose of the garbage once I’ve collected it?
Put your garbage out on your regularly scheduled garbage day. The Region of Peel is allowing residents to set out a maximum of two extra garbage bags at the curb for pick-up as part of their bi-weekly garbage collection. Garbage bag tags will not be required.
Thanks to everyone who participates in helping keep our community clean – and good luck in the draw!
