Site Plan Approved for Chalkwell Close townhouse development

Site Plan Approved for Chalkwell Close townhouse development
The site plan for the 166 back-to-back townhome development of 2620 Chalkwell Close was approved by the Mississauga Planning Department as of February 1, 2026.

The City of Mississauga Planning Department has approved Dunpar Homes site plan for the development of the former Elmcrest Public School site at 2620 Chalkwell Close. The site plan includes the same 166 back-to-back townhomes that was approved by Mississauga Planning and Development Committee on February 10, 2025, with a vote of 10 to one.

The approved site plan includes 370 parking spots (38 that are visitor parking). The private condo road extending from Chalkwell Close appears to be called Venito Way. The Park Royal Community Association was notified of the approval on February 1, 2026. It is our understanding that Dunpar Homes are looking to begin construction in spring 2026.

The building permit has yet to be issued as fire safety and access routes must be approved before issuing the building permit.

During the February 10, 2025 committee meeting, Park Royal residents Marina Le Brun and Craig Thompson presented that in the current design, 51 of the 166 proposed units do not meet the Ontario Building Code where the fire access route is less than 15 metres from principle entrances of each unit. This site plan appears to not have made any changes to address those concerns.
